OPTIMIZING THE USE OF ASPHALT RECLAIMED PAVEMENT RAP AS MATERIAL MIXED CONCRETE ASPHALTIC WITH AC-WEARING COURSE TYPE AC-WC SMOOTH GRADING USING ASPHALT PEN 60-70 VARIATION OF NEW ABRASION OF AGREGATE CASE STUDY PANDAAN-MALANG NATIONAL ROAD

ABSTRAK

Potensi Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement RAP hasil pengerukan mesin penggaruk dingin Cold Milling Machine di provinsi di Jawa Timur cukup besar diperkirakan 50.000 m3 pertahun. Sebagian besar RAP tersebut belum dimanfaatkan secara maksimal. Karakteristik RAP tersebut umumnya memenuhi persyaratan teknis kecuali pada gradasinya. Sehingga untuk dapat digunakan kembali diperlukan penambahan material baru. Pada penelitian sebelumnya telah dilakukan daur ulang material RAP Jalan Pandaan Malang yang diolah kembali menggunakan aspal pen 60-70 dengan agregat bergradasi halus. Hasil dari penelitian tersebut adalah material RAP dapat digunakan dengan persentase maksimal sebesar 20 dan dibatasi oleh nilai rongga dalam campuranVoids in Mix VIM pada kepadatan membalPercentage Refusal Density PRD. Sehingga dalam penelitian ini diupayakan untuk meningkatkan nilai VIM PRD dengan mencoba melakukan variasi abrasi dari agregat baru. Penelitian ini mengacu pada Spesifikasi Umum Bina Marga Tahun 2010 dan diawali dengan meneliti karakteristik RAP dan material baru. Dilanjutkan dengan membuat campuran beraspal panas menggunakan aspal pen 60-70 agregat baru yang berasal dari quarry Banyuwangi dengan nilai abrasi 1973 dan quarry Lumajang dengan nilai abrasi 236. Selanjutnya ditambahkan RAP dengan komposisi awal 25 RAP kemudian ditingkatkan menjadi 30 RAP. Penelitian ini berlaku pada rentang kadar aspal antara 51-74 yang nilainya diperoleh dari perhitungan kadar aspal empiris. Campuran tersebut kemudian diuji dengan pengujian Marshall dan kepadatan membal. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komposisi 25 RAP Jalan Pandaan-Malang dan 75 material baru dengan nilai abrasi sebesar 1973 memenuhi persyaratan Spesifikasi dengan Kadar Aspal Optimum KAO sebesar 635. Penggunaan komposisi tersebut mengakibatkan adanya biaya tambahan sebesar 06 dibandingkan campuran beraspal panas tanpa RAP. Sedangkan untuk Komposisi 25 RAP Jalan Pandaan-Malang dan 75 material baru dengan nilai abrasi sebesar 236 tidak dapat memenuhi persyaratan yang berlaku.


ABSTRACT

Potential of Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement RAP results in the Cold Milling Machine in East Java province is quite large estimated to 50000 m3 per year. Most of the RAP can not be fully utilized. In a previous study have been conducted an effort to recycle RAP materials from Pandaan-Malang Road and reprocessed using asphalt pen 60-70 with fine graded spesification. Results from these studies is RAP material can be used with a maximum percentage of 20 and is limited by voids in Mix VIM on Percentage Refusal Density PRD. Thus in this study attempted to increase the value of VIM PRD tried to do a new variation of an aggregate abrasion. This research based on Spesifikasi Umum Bina Marga Tahun 2010 and begin with researching the characteristics of RAP and new material. Then continued with making hot mix asphalt using asphalt pen 60-70 new aggregate derived from quarry Banyuwangi with abrasion value of 19.73 and quarry Lumajang with abrasion value of 23.6. Furthermore added RAP with initial composition of 25 RAP and increased to 30 RAP. This research is applies the bitumen content ranges between 5.1 -7.4 of the value obtained from the calculation of the asphalt content of empirical. Those mixture then tested with Marshall test and refusal density test. Result of this research shows that composition of 25 RAP Pandaan-Malang Road and 75 new material with abrasion value of 19.73 compliant Spesifikasi Umum Bina Marga Tahun 2010 with the optimum asphalt proportion Kadar Aspal Optimum KAO of 6.35. The use of such compositions led to a surcharge of 0.6 compared to using hot mix asphalt without RAP. While for the composition of 25 RAP Pandaan-Malang Road and 75 new material with abrasion value of 23.6 can not fulfill requirements of Spesifikasi Umum Bina Marga Tahun 2010.
