ABSTRAK

Pengetahuan kanal propagasi diperlukan dalam proses perancangan suatu sistem komunikasi dan instalasi jaringan komunikasi. Pengetahuan kanal tersebut diberikan dalam suatu model propagasi. Pemodelan kanal propagasi dapat dilakukan dengan dua pendekatan teori dan eksperi mental. Pendekatan teori memberikan suatu model deterministik sedangkan pendekatan eksperimental menghasilkan model statistik. Model statistik dapat memberikan gambaran yang lebih realis tentang kanal propagasi karena ia diperoleh dari evaluasi hasil karakterisasi dan pengukuran sinyal dalam lingkungan tertentu Agar dapat melakukan karakterisasi kanal propagasi sejumlah besar pengukuran propagasi harus dilakukan dengan berbagai konfigurasi. Penelitian ini merupakan tahap awal dari proses di atas yakni perancangan prototype sistem pengukuran propagasi pita lebar dalam gedung dalam domain frekuensi dengan memanfaatkan network analyzer yang diintegrasikan dengan PG. Sistem pengukuran ini juga dirancang untuk dapat melakukan pengukuran secara otomatik dari satu posisi pengukuran ke posisi pengukuran berikutnya dengan memanfaatkan rancangan mobile robot -Autonomous Guided Vehicle AGV. Kemampuan sistem yang dirancang beroperasi pada pita frekuensi 16 - 18 GHz dengan resolusi penyapuan frekuensi bervariasi tergantung jumlah titik sapuan. Rentang dinamis sistem sebesar 97.5 dan 101.5 dB dengan kombinasi antena omni dan direktif yang dirancang. Dengan keterbatasan kecepatan penyapuan frekuensi sistem ini mampu untuk melihat spektrum delay Doppler hingga 3.65 Hz atau untuk Doppler pita sempit hingga 9.33 Hz.


ABSTRACT

Knowledge on propagation channel is necessary in order to design a radio communication system and its implementation. Such knowledge is preferable given by a propagation model. Two approaches are commonly used in developing a propagation model i.e. theoretical and experimental. Theoretical approach is end to a determinist model while the experimental one produces a statistical model. Statistical model describes clearly and more realist on the propagation channel because the mode is obtained from an evaluation of characterization and measurements in certain configurations and environments. In order to perform such a characterization of propagation channel a number of measurements should be carried out in many configurations. This research is a first step in the above processes i.e. design a prototype of indoor wideband propagation measurement system in frequency domain using a network analyzer. The prototype is designed in order to perform automatic measurements from a position to the next positions using a prototype of mobile robot Autonomous Guided Vehicle AGV. Both coordination of movements and the measurements processes are controlled by a PC. The system is designed to be operated in the frequency 1.6 to 18 GHz where resolution of frequency sweeping varying depends on the number of the sampled points. The dynamic range of the system is between 97.5 and 101.5 dB obtained by a combination of the omni or directive antennas. The system is limited by sweeping speed then the maximum delay-Doppler spectrum can be measured is up to 3.65 Hz or in narrow band Doppler spectrum is up to 9.33 Hz.
