FABRICATION OF DYE SENSITIZED SOLAR CELL DSSC USING RED PACAR AIR FLOWER Impatiens balsamina EXTRACT AS FOTOSENSITIZER

ABSTRAK

Sel Surya Pewarna Tersensitisasi SSPT adalah sebuah sel surya elektrokimia dimana penyerapan cahaya dilakukan oleh molekul dye yang terikat pada nanostruktur TiO2. Sel ini terdiri dari dua bagian yaitu fotoanoda dan fotokatoda. Fotoanoda tersusun dari lapisan TiO2 yang dilapiskan pada sebuah conducting glass. Fotokatoda terdiri dari conducting glass yang telah dilapisi grafit pada permukaanya. Fotoanoda direndam dalam larutan dye bunga pacar air merah Impatiens balsamina selama 15 menit. Kedua elektroda ini dihubungkan dengan sistem redoks elektrolit. Perendaman dalam dye bunga pacar air merah Impatiens balsamina akan meningkatkan tegangan dan arus yang dihasilkan secara signifikan. Penyinaran menggunakan sinar matahari secara langsung sinar matahari tidak langsung dan lampu halogen 100 W menghasilkan tegangan dan arus yang berbeda. Penelitian ini membahas karakterisasi DSSC berdasarkan stabilitasnya dalam sifat-sifat fotokimia. Temperatur dan cahaya dapat mempengaruhi kemampuan SSPT menghasilkan tegangan dan arus. Tegangan dan arus optimum diperoleh pada penyinaran dengan sinar matahari secara langsung outdoor yaitu sebesar 5157 mV dan 183 A.


ABSTRACT

The dye-sensitized solar cell DSSC is an electrochemical solar cell where light absorption occurs by dye molecules attached to a nanostructured TiO2 electrode. These cell consist of two electrode photoanode and photocatode. Fotoanode is consists of a TiO2 layer deposited on conducting glass. Photocatode consist of conducting glass with grafit layer surfaces. The photoanode was dipped into red pacar air flower Impatiens balsamina dye solution for 15 minutes. Then these two electrode would contact with the redox electrolyte system. Dipping into red pacar air flower Impatiens balsamina dye would increased voltage and current output significantly. Irradiation using direct sunlight outdoor indirect sunlight indoor and halogen 100 W lamp produce different output. The present paper report characterization of DSSC due to its stability against photochemical properties. Temperature and light can affect the ability of SSPT to produce voltage and current. The optimum voltage and current obtained at irradiating with the direct sunlight outdoor that equal to 5157 mV and 183 A.
