APPLICATION OF LEAN SIXSIGMA AT WOODWORKING INDUSTRY AND EXPLOITING SCRAP OF WOOD AS FINISH PRODUCT Case Study PT. Anugrah Putera Sanjaya

ABSTRAK

PT Anugrah Putera Sanjaya adalah perusahaan yang bergerak dalam bidang manufaktur kayu dengan tingkat randemen kayu 40-55 . Produk perusahaan adalah kayu solid finger join stick finger join laminatingdan finger join laminating board fokus penelitian ini pertama pada produk finger join stick karena merupakan produk yang sangat membutuhkan bahan baku terbesar tiap bulannya dan memiliki defect rate yang tertinggi. Fokus amatan yang kedua adalah bahan buangan pada unit saw mill dan kiln dry. Penelitian ini mengaplikasikasikan gabungan konsep Lean Thinking dan konsep Six Sigma yaitu Lean Six Sigma untuk mereduksi waste yang muncul dalam aktivitas produksi. Tools Lean Six Sigma yang dipakai pada penelitian ini adalah Big Picture Mapping Pareto Chart Root Cause Analysis dan Failure Mode and Effect Analysis Berdasarkan pengamatan pada proses produksi terungkap bahwa waste yang paling sering muncul dalam proses produksi terdiri atas 3 jenis waste yaitu defect inventory dan excessprocessing. Defect merupakan hasil dari setiap unit mesin yang dianggap tidak sesuai dengan spesifikasi. Inventory merupakan sisa produk setengah jadi dari tiap unit mesin. Proses berlebih dilakukan sebagai akibat dari ketidak sesuaian antara ukuran bahan input dan output yang diinginkan masih belum memperhatikan toleransi yang dibutuhkan mesin akibatnya diperlukan proses tambahan untuk bisa menghasilkan output yang sesuai. Pemanfaatan bahan buangan sebagai produk jadi secara tidak langsung meningkatkan efisiensi penggunaan material kayu. Dari kombinasi alternatif solusi yang ditawarkan diperoleh 3 solusi dengan nilai value tertinggi. Aplikasi solusi tersebut dapat meningkatkan efisiensi 1-10 material kayu.


ABSTRACT

PT Anugrah Putera Sanjaya is a company that concern in wood manufacturing has randement level of material 40-55. PT. Anugrah Putera Sanjaya product variant consist of solid wood finger join stick finger join laminating and finger join laminating board. This research focused on finger join stick variant because this product need the highest of raw material and have the highest defect rate in their production. The second problem will be focused on the scrap of unvaluable wood at saw mill and kiln dry unit research. This research use the merger Concepting of Lean Thinking and Six Sigma concept with Lean Six Sigma method is to reduce waste which emerge in activity produce and the tools such as Big Picture Mapping Pareto Chart Root Cause Analysis and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis. Based on the perception at production process telling that most often waste often emerges in course of production consisted of 3 type waste defect inventory and excess processing. Defect representing result from each of machine that does not match with the specification. Inventory represent the rest unfinished product of each machine unit. Excessive process done in consequence of unaccording among the size measure of material input and output of the desired which not yet paid attention to tolerance required by a machine as a result needed an additional process to be able to yield appropriate output. Exploiting the scrap of wood such as finished product indirectly to improve the efficiency of wood material used. From combination of alternative solution offering obtained 3 solution with the highest value. Application of the solution can improve efficiency 1-10 wood material.
