EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF IMPACT FORCE VELOCITY INFLUENCE ON THE RAIL WEB STRESS AND STRAIN

ABSTRAK

Kerusakan yang terjadi pada track rel kereta api disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor salah satu faktor tersebut adalah adanya cacat pada roda kereta api yang dikenal dengan ketidaklingkaran roda outof- round. Ketidaklingkaran roda ini menyebabkan terjadinya impact load berlebih yang berulang pada rel ketika kereta berjalan. Adanya suatu metode untuk mendeteksi cacat pada roda diharapkan mampu memberikan suatu pertimbangan waktu yang tepat dalam penggantian roda maintenance sehingga impact berlebih tidak perlu diterima oleh rel kereta api. Metode pendeteksian cacat pada roda ini secara umum dikenal dengan nama WIM Wheel Impact Monitor dimana metode WIM ini menggunakan bermacam-macam cara dan yang paling umum digunakan adalah strain gauge dan accelerometer. Salah satu metode pendeteksian ketidakrataan roda kereta adalah Strain Gauge Based Method dimana masih terjadi perdebatan dalam konsistensi pembacaan alarm level tentang variasi kecepatan impact dan lokasi pendeteksian. Tugas akhir ini mempelajari serta meneliti lebih lanjut pengaruh variasi kecepatan impact terhadap regangan dan tegangan yang terjadi pada daerah pemasangan alat ukur strain gauge pada rel kereta sebagai acuan WILD serta instrumen atau alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian perlu diketahui apakah bisa memberikan hasil pengukuran yang reliable. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan eksperimental yang menggunakan alat ukur strain gage. Dari penelitian ini didapatkan hasil yaitu semakin besar kecepatan impact maka nilai regangan dan tegangan yang terukur pada posisi peletakan strain gage semakin besar pula. Perubahan yang terjadi tidak linier yaitu dengan standard deviasi maksimum tegangan dan regangan untuk regresi linier sebesar 47 dan pada hubungan polinomial didapat standard deviasi maksimum sebesar 021. Pada posisi peletakkan strain gage di tengah web terlihat nilai perubahan yang cenderung linear dengan standard deviasi maksimum dari regresi linier regangan dan tegangan yang lebih kecil sebesar 12 dibandingkan posisi atas web sebesar 47 sehingga posisi di tengah web dipilih sebagai posisi pengukuran yang ideal. Untuk pengukuran dengan salah satu kecepatan impact yang sama didapat standard deviasi dari pengukuran peak pada posisi atas web sebesar 602 956V dengan koefisien variasi 074 dan pada tengah web sebesar 351 956V dengan koefisien variasi 062 sehingga alat ukur atau instrumen yang digunakan dapat memberikan hasil yang reliabel.


ABSTRACT

Damage that happened at track caused by some factors one of the factor was the existence of handicap at recognized train wheel called out-of-round. This out-of-round cause the happening of recuring excessive impact load at track. Existence of a method to detect handicap at wheel expected can give a consideration of right time in replacement of wheel maintenance so that excessive impact neednt be accepted by track. Method detection of handicap at this wheel familiarly named WIM Wheel Impact Monitor where this method use all kinds of way and which was most commonly used is by strain gauge and accelerometer. One of the detection method for wheel out of round is Strain Gauge Based Method where still happened debate in consistency read of alarm concerning the level of impact speed variation and detection location. This thesis studying and also checking furthermore influence of impact speed variation to stress and strain that happened at installation area of measuring instrument strain gauge at track also measuring instrument which used in research it is important to know whether can give result of measurement which is reliable. This research is done with approach of experimental using measuring instrument of strain gage. This research was got results that ever greater speed of impact hence measured stress and strain on area of located strain gage was ever greater also. Change that happened wasnt linear that is with maximum standard deviation of strain and stress for linear regression equal to 47 and with polynomial relation got maximum standard deviation equal to 021. On located strain gage in the middle of web seen change value which tend to linear with maximum standard deviation of linear regression for stress and strain equal to 12 whichs smaller compared to position of top web that equal to 47 so that position in the middle of web selected as ideal measurement position. At this experiment easuring instrument can give result which is reliable. For measurement with one same speed of impact standard of deviation from measurement of peak on course web equal to 602 956V with coefficient variation 074 and at middle of web equal to 351 956V with coefficient variation 062 .
