STUDY ANALYSIS OF EXSPANSIVE SOIL EXPERIENCE WETTING AND DRYING CYCLES REPEATEDLY

ABSTRAK

Pada penelitian ini dilakukan pengujian tanah ekspansif yang menitik beratkan pada tekanan pengembangan dan persentase pengembangan. Percobaan ini dilakukan di Laboratorium dengan metode uji pengembangan konsolidasi Consolidated - swell test berdasarkan SNI 03-6795-2002. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan sampel yang telah diambil dari daerah Citraland Surabaya. Pengambilan sampel undisturbed pada kedalaman-3m dan-5m. Sampel diuji dengan alat konsolidometer Oedometer di Laboratorium Uji Tanah Diploma III Teknik Sipil ITS. Pengujian dilakukan pada kondisi tidak terganggu undisturbed dan pada kondisi sample yang sudah mengalami siklus pembasahan dan pengeringan secara berulang untuk masing masing kedalaman. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa tanah yang terdapat di Citraland Surabaya merupakan tanah lempung ekspansif yang memiliki potensi pengembangan tinggi dengan data tanah yang diperoleh dari hasil penelitian adalah sebagai berikut Untuk nilai atteberg limit kedalaman-3m mempunyai nilai LL 9537 dan IP 7499 sedangkan kedalaman -5m mempunyai nilai LL 9816 dan IP 7651 . Pada pengujian pengembangan yang dilakukan dalam dua kali percobaan untuk kedalaman -3m percobaan 1 dan percobaan 2 didapatkan nilai swelling pressure pada siklus 1 021 kgcm2 sd 022 kgcm2 dengan nilai swelling potential 1360 sd 1040 kemudian terjadi penurunan pada siklus ke 7 sebesar 014 kgcm2 sd 015 kgcm2 dengan nilai swelling potential antara 367 sd 384. Untuk siklus 1 pada percobaan 1 dan percobaan 2 kedalaman-5m didapatkan nilai swelling pressure 022 kgcm2 sd 028 kgcm2 dengan nilai swelling potential 1200 sd 1320 dan menurun pada siklus 7 sebesar 013 kgcm2 sd sebesar 016 kgcm2 dengan nilai swelling potential 400 sd 404.


ABSTRACT

In this research the expansive soil testing focuses on development pressure and the percentage of development. The experiment was conducted in laboratory with test method development consolidated consolidated-the swell test by SNI 03-6795-2002. This study was conducted using samples that had been taken from the area Citraland Surabaya. Undisturbed sampling at a depth of - 3m and - 5m. Samples were tested by means of consolidometer oedometer Soil Testing Laboratory in Civil Engineering Diploma ITS. Tests carried out on disturbed conditions undisturbed and the condition of the sample had experienced wetting and drying cycles were repeated for respectively depth. From this study it can be concluded that the soil contained in Surabaya Citraland an expansive clay soil that has a high development potential with soil data obtained from the results of the study are as follows For atteberg value - 3m depth limit has a value LL 95.37 and IP 74.99 while the depth - 5m has a value LL 98.16 and IP 76.51 and IP. In development testing performed in two trials to a depth of 3m - 2 trial 1 and trial swelling pressure values obtained in cycle 1 021 kgcm2 sd 022 kgcm2 with swelling potential value of 1360 sd 1040 and a decrease in cycle 7 of 014 kgcm2 sd 0.15 kgcm2 with swelling potential value of between 3.67 s d 3.84 . For cycle 1 experiment 1 and experiment 2 - 5m depth values obtained swelling pressure of 022 kgcm2 sd 028 kgcm2 with swelling potential value of 1200 sd and 1320 decrease in cycle 7 of 013 kgcm2 sd of 016 kgcm2 with swelling potential value of 400 sd 404 .
