PROPAGATION OF SUPERLUMINAL LIGHT PULSE IN FOUR-WAVE MIXING INTERACTION

ABSTRAK

Analisa perambatan pulsa superluminal dalam interaksi Four-Wave Mixing telah dilakukan dengan tujuan mengetahui bagaimana bentuk pulsa Seed dan pulsa Conjugate berubah selama merambat dalam medium uap Rubidium sehingga menjadikan pulsa tersebut superluminal atau kecepatannya melebihi cahaya. Membuktikan bahwa kondisi superluminal dari pulsa tersebut memiliki kebergantungan terhadap frekuensi. Mengetahui hubungan antara kondisi superluminal pulsa Seed dan Conjugate terhadap intensitas pulsa Seed yang digunakan. Analisa dan langkah perumusan untuk mendapatkan persamaan bentuk pulsa Seed dan Conjugate untuk proses tanpa FWM yaitu dengan menuliskan vektor gelombang bergantung frekuensi yang berbentuk Lorentzian dalam deret Taylor mensubtitusikannya kedalam persamaan gelombang medan listrik dari pulsa Seed dan Conjugate yang telah diubah dalam domain frekuensi melalui transformasi Fourier dan mencari pemecahan untuk proses tanpa FWM dan proses dengan FWM. Hasil perumusan dan perhitungan membuktikan bahwa pada proses tanpa FWM pulse peak advancement untuk pulsa Seed dan Conjugate terbukti bergantung pada frekuensi detuning yang menunjukkan seberapa superluminal pulsa tersebut sedangkan pada proses dengan FWM selain bersifat superluminal pulsa Seed dan Conjugate saling terkopel selama merambat dalam medium uap Rubidium.


ABSTRACT

Analysis on propagation of superluminal light pulse in four-wave mixing interaction has been done with the purpose of knowing how shape of seed pulse and conjugates pulse changed during its propagation in medium Rubidium vapor which make those pulses become superluminal or travel faster than speed of light. Proving that superluminal condition of seed pulse and conjugate pulse depend on detuning frequency. Knowing the relation between superluminal condition of seed and conjugate pulse to the intensity of the seed pulse. Analysis and formulation to obtain equations that can describe the shape of seed pulse is done by writing frequency dependent wave vector which is Lorentzian into Taylor series substituting it into wave equation for seed pulse and conjugate pulse which have been transformed into frequency domain using Fourier transform and solve equation for case process with FWM and without FWM. The results of formulation and calculation prove that in process without FWM pulse peak advancement which describe superluminal condition of the pulse is indeed depend on frequency detuning while in process with FWM not only both pulse become superluminal and depend on frequency detuning but also amplitude of seed pulse and conjugate pulse is coupled during its propagation in Rubidium vapor medium.
