OPTIMALIZATION THE USE OF RECLAIMED ASPHALT PAVEMENT RAP AS AN ASPHALTIC CONCRETE WITH TYPE AC-WEARING COURSE AC-WC COARSE GRADATION USING ASPHALT PEN 60 - 70 AND ASPHALT MODIFIED TRS 55 CASE STUDY PANDAAN-MALANG NATIONAL ROAD AND PILANG-PROBOLINGGO

ABSTRAK

Potensi material hasil kerukan mesin penggaruk dingin Cold Milling Machine yang disebut sebagai Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement RAP sebagai bahan penanganan Jalan Nasional dan provinsi di Jawa Timur cukup besar diperkirakan 50.000 m3 pertahun. Namun penggunaan kembali RAP tadi sangat kecil. Pada penelitian sebelumnya telah dilakukan usaha daur ulang material RAP dari Jalan Pandaan - Malang dan Jalan Pilang Probolinggo yang diolah kembali dengan Aspal Pen 60 - 70 dan Aspal Modifikasi Elastomer Sintetis dengan campuran agregat bergradasi halus. Karakteristik agregat yang terkandung di dalam RAP memenuhi persyaratan kecuali gradasinya. Untuk dapat memenuhi persyaratan gradasi diperlukan penambahan agregat baru yang berasal dari Banyubiru Pasuruan. Hasilnya adalah material RAP dapat digunakan kembali dengan persentase maksimal 20. Hal yang membatasi penggunaan RAP adalah nilai Voids in Mix VIM pada kepadatan membalPercentage Refusal Density PRD. Dalam upaya meningkatkan nilai VIM PRD maka pada penelitian ini akan dilakukan pencampuran dengan spesifikasi AC-WC gradasi kasar. Material RAP akan dicampur dengan material baru sehingga memenuhi persyaratan sebagai AC-WC bergradasi kasar dengan tetap memenuhi kinerja teknis yang ditetapkan dalam Spesifikasi Umum Bina Marga 2010. Penelitian ini hanya berlaku pada rentang kadar aspal 48 - 69 yang nilainya diperoleh dari perhitungan kadar aspal empiris. Kemudian dilakukan pengujian Marshall dan kepadatan membal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa AC-WC gradasi kasar dengan komposisi 25 RAP dan 75 material baru dapat memenuhi kinerja teknis yang ditentukan. Potensi penghematan biaya produksi serta uji laboratorium dengan penggunaan RAP sebesar 25 apabila dibandingkan dengan campuran beraspal panas tanpa RAP adalah sebesar 1392 dengan aspal Pen 60 - 70 dan 1522 dengan aspal modifikasi Elastomer Sintetis jenis TRS 55.


ABSTRACT

The potential of dredged material from Cold Milling Machine which called Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement RAP as a material for handling of national and provincial roads in East Java is quite large estimated to 50000 m3 per year. However the reuse of RAP was very small. In previous studies have been conducted an effort to recycle RAP materials from Pandaan - Malang National Road and Pilang Probolinggo National Road which are reprocessed with Asphalt Pen 60-70 and asphalt modified synthetic elastomer with a fine graded spesification. The Characteristics of RAP aggregates can meet the requirements except for gradation. To be able to fulfill the gradation requirements it is required the addition of a new aggregate from Banyubiru Pasuruan. The result is a reusable RAP material with a maximum percentage of 20. The things which restricting the use of RAP is the value of voids in Mix VIM on the condition of Percentage Refusal Density PRD. In an effort to increase the value of VIM PRD then in this research will be conducted blending materials between new aggregatevirgin aggregate and aggregat from RAP in order to fulfill coarserough gradation specifications. RAP material will be mixed with new materials to fulfill the requirements as AC-WC roughcoarse graded while still fulfill the technical performance specifications based on Spesifikasi Umum Bina Marga 2010. This research applies the bitumen content range between 48 - 69 the value obtained from the calculation of empirical asphalt content. Those mixture then tested with Marshall test dan refusal density test. The results show that AC-WC with 25 RAP and 75 new material can meet the specified technical performance. Potential production cost savings as well as laboratory tests with the use of RAP by 25 when compared to AC-WC without RAP is equal to 13.92 with Asphalt Pen 60-70 and 15.22 with asphalt modified TRS 55.
