ABSTRAK

Telah dilakukan penelitian pembuatan Sel Surya Berbasis Pewarna Tersensitisasi SSPT dengan menggunakan fotosensitizer ekstrak bunga Rosella Hibiscus sabdariffa L.. Komponen SSPT terdiri atas elektroda kerja elektroda counter dan larutan elektrolit. Bunga Rosella mengandung sianidin-3-glukosida atau disebut juga sianin. Foton yang datang ke permukaan sel akan mengeksitasi elektron sianin yang kemudian ditransfer melalui elektroda kerja menuju elektroda counter melalui mediator larutan elektrolit I2 dalam KI. Karakterisasi SSPT dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisa struktur pori TiO2 dan pengukuran arus-tegangan. Pengukuran arus-tegangan dilakukan selama 8 hari dengan menggunakan variasi perendaman lapisan TiO2 di dalam larutan fotosensitizer 15 30 60 90 dan 120 menit serta sumber foton radiasi matahari secara langsung out door radiasi matahari secara tak langsung in door dan radiasi lampu halogen 100 W dengan jarak penyinaran 15 cm. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh waktu perendaman optimum sel adalah pada 60 menit. Arus dan voltase maksimum yang dihasilkan dari SSPT dengan fotosensitizer ekstrak bunga Rosella sebesar 517 Acm2 dan 12677 mVcm2 dengan area aktif 3 cm2 dari pengukuran di bawah sinar matahari langsung out door. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak bunga Rosella dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai fotosensitizer pada SSPT.


ABSTRACT

Research fabrication of Dye-Sensitised Solar Cell DSSC were done by using calyx extract of Roselle Hibiscus sabdariffa L. as fotosensitizer. DSSC consist of working electrode counter electrode and electrolyte solution. Calyx of Roselle contain cyanidin-3-glucoside or also called cyanin. By the presence of this compound incident foton toward cell could excitate electron of cyanin which transport through working electrode to counter electrode via I2KI solution. DSSC characterization were done by using pore structure analysis and current-voltage measurement. Current-voltage measurement were done for 8 days using submergence time variation of TiO2 coated electrode onto fotosensitizer solution in 15 30 60 90 and 120 minutes and photon source variation such under direct sunlight out door under undirect sunlight in door and under halogen lamp 100 W-15 cm distance. According to results of the research the optimum submerge time put on 60 minute. Current and voltage maximum from DSSC using extract of Roselle are 5.17 Acm2 and 126.77 mVcm2 with active area 3 cm2 from under direct sunlight out door measurement. This result means that extract calyx of Roselle potential to be fotosensitizer in DSSC.
